LOS ANGELES -- From being overlooked in high school to becoming one of the top college football linemen in the nation protecting Heisman winner Caleb Williams, Emmanuel Pregnon has had quite an interesting journey thus far.
A standout at Thomas Jefferson High School, Pregnon was a true leader. A two-way player who excelled on both sides of the ball. Though he worked hard and battled daily, he was overlooked and underrated.
Many say that Colorado is a fly-over state when it comes to high school sports. Though this may be true, Pregnon didn't let that stop or hinder his grind. He kept working, and eventually his perseverance, hard work, and dedication paid off. He proved all doubters wrong, earning a scholarship and signing to the University of Wyoming.
At the University of Wyoming, Pregnon redshirted his first year. Many people don't take full advantage of their redshirt year, but Pregnon did. He worked hard and stayed ready, which paid off for him again.
The following year, Pregnon got his opportunity to play and he took over. He became one of the best linemen in the country. His outstanding season earned him All-Amercian awards in the Mountian West Conference. Pregnon transferred to The University of Southern California the following season and, once again, made an instant impact. Pregnon continues to work hard and flourish, making sure he's always "in that mode." This coming season looks to be a big one for Pregnon and the Trojans. A new conference means new opponents, but the grind is the same.
