BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- From beginning to end, it was Arielle Wisne. A senior and fan favorite at the University of Indiana, Wisne started the game by singing the nation's anthem and received a standing ovation for her harmonious vocals.
She finished the game with a big block in the post, sealing the deal and the win against the University of Maryland. Wisne made hustle plays and stepped up when teammates went down. She displayed her leadership and showed selflessness throughout the game.
Wisne has paved the way for many young athletes in her city. Coming from Colorado, an overlooked state in recruiting, she made it from Horizon High School to the legendary Hoosier land, The University of Indiana. On her journey, she encountered and endured adversity, yet she remained a passionate leader for her team.
Colorado women's basketball has produced some amazing talent in recent years, with more to come, and Wisne arguably helped put Colorado women's hoops on the map.
